Anna began vocal training at the age of eighteen
with well known Bass-Baritone John Dethick. While still at school
she won the Lamorna Prize. She went on to study music and singing at
Huddersfield University. During her time at college, she studied
opera roles that were most suited to her voice; Susanna (Marriage of
Figaro), Despina ( Cosi fan tutti), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel),
Adele (Die Fledermaus), Pamina (Magic Flute) to name a few. Also
studied were oratorio works by Handel, Mozart, Haydn and pieces of
baroque music and classical music.
After her time at college, Anna enjoyed a varied
and busy career as a concert, recital and oratorio singer. Four
years ago she took a break from singing to have a family, and now
studies singing with renowned soprano Jayne Carpenter. Anna has a
high, light voice that copes equally well with coloratura and legato
lines. She has an extensive and flexible repertoire, ranging from
Mozart to musical theatre. She is re-establishing herself as a
concert and recital singer and recently made her opera debut as
Gretel in the highly successful Northern Chamber Orchestras
production of Hansel and Gretel. Anna has a busy concert and opera
